During his November-December 1983 stay, Alcázar presented his music at the Union of Composers in Moscow and met Nikita Koshkin there. From this encounter arose a mutual promise: to each write a work for the other to celebrate the beginning of their artistic friendship.

Returning for the International Music Festival in May 1984, Alcázar received from Koshkin the five-movement suite The Elves. Shortly thereafter, Alcázar began composing the 12 Preludios, started during the Christmas holidays of 1984 and finalized in mid-January 1985. Both works were then publicly premiered by Alcázar on March 15, 1988, at the Ponce Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City. This score thus highlights a chapter intimately connected to performance, exchange, and the international circulation of repertoires.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Musical Genre

Classical

Publication

Sheet music

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Composer

Miguel Alcázar

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/2b757ea775901976b49ba2bad714e29a299d8948_HL_EO37_25fd301e-fd4e-46da-ad16-d1c66b60345a.jpg?v=1789417587
