agean-crash-20-special-jazz-79729
20" CRASH SPECIAL JAZZ

Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

The Special Jazz series by Agean is part of the great tradition of Turkish cymbal making, with artisanal production carried out in Uzunkopru. Positioned as a "jazz"-oriented range due to its balance and finesse of response, it remains deliberately open to other aesthetics thanks to a rich and clear character, appreciated whenever an expressive and articulate crash is sought.

Who This Drum/This Cymbal Is For

This 20 crash is particularly suited for intermediate to advanced drummers who want a responsive cymbal capable of translating playing details (dynamics, placement, accents). It excels in jazz (swing, bebop, modern jazz) but also works very well for rock when looking for a more musical crash, rich in harmonics, and less "raw" than a very thick cymbal.

Features and Innovations

The traditional manufacturing and hand hammering give this crash a marked personality and an organic feel under the stick. The 20-inch size provides a larger surface, useful for achieving a full crash with a beautiful openness and natural presence in the mix, while maintaining the good attack precision promised by the series.

Sound

Thanks to the Bronze B25 alloy (75 percent copper, 25 percent tin, traces of silver), this crash develops a dense harmonic palette, with a generally more complex and nuanced rendering than more classic bronze. The crash reacts finely to variations in striking: light, it remains controlled and ringing; more forceful, it opens up with a broader and enveloping character.

Hand hammering promotes a sense of sonic relief: defined attack, rich grain, and a dynamic behavior that highlights stick playing. It is a cymbal designed to remain expressive and clear, an asset both for acoustic contexts and amplified bands where a musical rather than aggressive crash is desired.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Type

Crash

Warranty

2 years (except for splashes and cymbals from the R Series)

Diameter

20 inches

Coverage

any defect and crack appearing in the groove of the lathing (in the same direction as the lathing lines)

Series

Special Jazz

Note

cymbals from the R Series require a particularly adapted setup

Alloy

Bronze B25 (75 percent copper, 25 percent tin, traces of silver)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/d44f9088c4cf29d8fbad7c51d272b9a8e8ed0955_AGE_SJ20CR.jpg?v=1792573508
