ashdown-the-capri-23-pj-ice-blue-429111
The Capri 23 PJ Ice Blue

A Mini Bass Inspired by the "Capri" Spirit, Designed to Play Anywhere

With its modern look, elegant "Ice Blue" finish, and matching headstock, this mini bass fits into a contemporary aesthetic that is immediately recognizable. Its compact format is not a gimmick: it was designed to facilitate access to the bass while retaining the features of a real electric instrument, ready to accompany your practice sessions, lessons, and travels.

For Whom and Which Styles?

This bass is primarily aimed at beginners, young musicians, and anyone looking for a reassuring bass to handle thanks to the short scale. It will also suit experienced bassists who want a compact instrument to practice silently with a small amp or as a travel bass. In terms of repertoire, it performs well in pop, rock, funk, soul, and indie, with fingerstyle, pick playing, and light slap techniques.

Sound

The split-coil P-style pickup delivers a solid foundation: round lows, present low-mids, and precise response that helps place each note well in the mix. The deliberately simple passive electronics (volume and tone) go straight to the point: open, the sound remains full and dynamic; closing the tone control yields a more muffled color, perfect for vintage lines or more discreet grooves. The poplar promotes overall balance and natural attack, while the roasted maple adds clarity and definition. Finally, the 23.5" / 596 mm scale reduces tension: the feel is softer, the response immediate, and sustain remains controlled, ideal for clean, melodic, and effective parts.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

For comfortable use, you can consider a standard bass strap, a clip-on tuner, and a good quality 6.35 mm instrument jack cable. Since the bass comes with a gig bag, transport is already made easier for rehearsals and trips.

Technical
