bach-a451-artisan-7c-argentee-trompette-425065
A451 Artisan - 7C Silver plated (Trumpet)

Bach: a mouthpiece born from a musician’s high standards

The history of Bach mouthpieces is inseparable from Vincent Bach, a musician and engineer who, as early as 1918, sought to design high-quality mouthpieces after a disappointing experience on tour. This pursuit led to a rigorous approach to manufacturing, which would later result in the instruments that became legendary in orchestral sections, to the point of inspiring the name "Bach Stradivarius". Over time, and with know-how passed down within Conn-Selmer, the brand has maintained a solid reputation: mouthpieces designed to meet practical playing needs, from comfort to projection, with consistent production quality appreciated by teachers and professionals alike.

Which trumpet players and styles is it suited to?

This Bach Artisan mouthpiece is designed for trumpet players looking for a model that is responsive and easy to play. Its "bright tone, softer rim, fast response" make it a relevant option for beginners and intermediate players who want to improve stability and attack precision, particularly in lessons, concert bands, fanfares, or big bands. It will also suit advanced musicians who prioritize immediate response and a clear sonic presence, useful in trumpet sections or in repertoires where articulation must remain crisp (variety music, stage music, brass band, ensemble jazz).

Tone and design

The core of a trumpet mouthpiece’s playing characteristics lies in the cup and rim. Here, the medium-deep cup offers a good compromise: enough body to maintain a focused tone, while retaining clear brightness and projection. The 16.20 mm cup diameter contributes to a centered, stable feel, helping to secure intonation and consistency between registers. The medium-wide rim with a rounded outer edge promotes comfort and more evenly distributed pressure, helping you play for longer without tension while maintaining a precise attack. Finally, the silver-plated finishing provides a pleasant touch and a classic feel under the lips, with a understated, professional appearance.

Recommended compatible accessories

To preserve your mouthpiece’s response and hygiene, we recommend using a mouthpiece brush (for regular cleaning of the interior) as well as a trumpet mouthpiece pouch/case to prevent knocks and scratches inside the instrument case.

Technical
