Designed around a discrete Class A circuit and developed with the expertise of an engineer involved at the time, it aims for fidelity to the original character while meeting the demands of modern production (clarity, output level, repeatability).

Who Is This 2-Channel Preamp/EQ For?

Ideal for project studios as well as professional setups, the 1273 excels on vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, overheads, DI bass, and synths. Its gain headroom and "Tone" function make it a reliable choice with low-level microphones, including ribbon models. Dedicated controls per channel speed up workflow during tracking, reamping, or hybrid mixing.

Key Features and Innovations

Preamplification and Headroom: Each channel delivers up to 80 dB of gain via a fully discrete signal path, producing a dense yet defined signal. The Midas transformers create progressive harmonic saturation when pushed, perfect for sculpting vocals or thickening a snare drum.

Musical Equalization: The 3-band inductance section, inspired by classic consoles, allows broad boosts/cuts without harshness. The third-order passive high-pass filter cleans sub-bass frequencies while preserving the low-mid foundation.

Studio Ergonomics: Combo mic/line inputs, front-panel instrument DI, separate switches (phase, tone, insert, line, instrument, phantom power), and 7-segment LED level displays per channel facilitate level alignment and setting repeatability. The 19-inch / 2U rack format fits naturally into any setup.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Number of channels

2

Rack unit

2

EQ

3 channels

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Bass

boost/cut at 35, 60, 110, or 220 Hz

High-pass filter in 5 steps per channel

50, 80, 160, or 300 Hz

Mids

boost/cut at 360, 700, 1,600, 3,200, 4,800, or 7,200 Hz

Separate switches per channel

phase, tone, insert, line, instrument, phantom power

Treble

boost/cut at 10,000, 12,000, or 16,000 Hz

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/128d3fff92093d3bb689efd09b83b2f2351fd747_BEHRINGER_1273.jpg?v=1792656662
