editions-delatour-france-de-vienne-bernard-intime-alto-piano-363931
De Vienne Bernard - Intime - Alto & Piano

Summary of This Score

This work carries a genuine aesthetic project: to translate the intimate, the tender, the minute, that "skin-deep" emotion that surfaces in relationships between beings, made of fragments of memory, convergences, and divergences. The form is organized around a rapid succession of highly contrasting motifs, which intertwine, respond to each other, and exchange their characteristics, creating a living and changing material.

The writing, deliberately refined and seemingly simple, demands great rigor in execution. Performers are invited to carefully attend to the smallest details of timbre and discourse: sound colors, attacks, playing techniques, articulations, phrasing, and dynamics. The challenge is to be able to instantly change character whenever a new indication appears, in order to preserve the mobility of the form and the expressive richness of the whole.

For study purposes, the work can be approached in sections: although the flow is designed without interruption, each part can be played independently to work on stylistic accuracy, rhythmic precision, and the palette of nuances. Note: the central part, written in 2001, also exists in a solo viola version under the title Esquisse, published separately by Éditions François Dhalmann.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Musical Genre

Classical

Publication

Sheet music

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Artist

Tran Ngoc Nguyen Trinh

Genre

contemporary score

Instrumentation

ensemble (several parts, including a central part for solo viola)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/4daa65295be544e02b0667bddd492402262434e9_PARTOCHE.jpg?v=1789448649
https://woodbrass.shop/products/editions-delatour-france-de-vienne-bernard-intimate-viola-piano-363931
