jupiter-jas1150q-verni-432462
JAS1150Q Lacquered

A New Generation from Jupiter: Artisan Tradition and Contemporary Finishes

With the JAS1150 series, Jupiter emphasizes what defines the personality of a good alto saxophone: the quality of brass vibration, mechanical stability, and sound coherence across registers. The design is based on classical craftsmanship (rolled brass sheets assembled by soldering), while integrating modern structural choices and adjustments to offer an instrument that is both robust, elegant, and very pleasant to play. The design is highlighted by a new engraving on the neck and an engraving on the bell, for a refined aesthetic both on stage and in rehearsal.

For Which Musicians and Styles?

The Jupiter JAS1150 in E-flat is aimed at saxophonists looking to take a step forward: advanced students, conservatory musicians, demanding amateurs, or already comfortable players seeking more projection and control. Its consistent response and intonation designed for daily practice make it suitable for classical (homogeneity, centering), jazz (presence, projection, articulation), variety, and wind orchestra. The facilitated access to the altissimo register also makes it an ally for developing advanced techniques without struggling with the instrument.

Sound, Projection, and Mechanics: A Centered and Warm Response

The SonaPure+ design (neck, tube, body, and bell) relies on an annealing process intended to reduce tensions in the brass to allow the material to vibrate more freely. The result: a warm and more centered timbre, increased resonance, and a freer playing sensation across the entire range. The soldered pads reinforce the body, stabilize the mechanical alignment, and contribute to long-lasting reliability. The new bell brace (with two fixation points) aims for an interesting compromise: stable connection, lightweight structure, and balanced projection to carry the sound without harshness.

On the ergonomics side, the adjustable left and right hand thumb rests (metal) help find a natural position, useful for long sessions and precision work. Fine adjustments (adjustable stop felts, dedicated screws on several key cups, screws on the octave key) facilitate setup and maintain a silent and responsive mechanism. Finally, the Pisoni Premium Deluxe pads with metal resonators promote a clear attack and good stability of sound production.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To get the most out of this alto saxophone, you can complement the setup with alto saxophone reeds (strengths adapted to your mouthpiece and embouchure), a saxophone neck strap or harness to improve comfort, a body and neck swab for maintenance after each session, and cork grease to preserve the cork on the neck and
