jupiter-jas1150sgq-verni-argente-432463
JAS1150SGQ Lacquered/Silver

A New Generation of Jupiter: Manufacturing Tradition, Contemporary Approach

With the JAS1150 series, Jupiter emphasizes a balance sought by many saxophonists: the comfort of craftsmanship inspired by traditional methods and the consistency expected from a modern instrument. The rolled brass principle (sheet metal shaped then assembled) combined with precise soldering promotes a more homogeneous tube vibration, while the annealing treatment applied to the body and neck aims to free the resonance and stabilize the response. The result: an E-flat alto saxophone with a strong character, designed to go further in projection, control, and creativity.

For Which Musicians and Styles

The Jupiter JAS1150 is particularly aimed at intermediate to advanced saxophonists looking to take the next step: more sound presence, smoother emission, and mechanics that keep up with daily technical work. Whether in conservatories, concert bands, big bands, or on stage, it performs comfortably in both classical (intonation, stability, homogeneity) and jazz and contemporary music (projection, attack, dynamic control). Support for the altissimo register, with an included fingering chart, also encourages exploration of modern techniques without making the instrument demanding.

Sound, Intonation, and Design: Warmth, Focus, and "Handcrafted" Feel

The SonaPure+ body/neck combination and dedicated annealing contribute to a warmer and more centered timbre, with a sensation of stable air column. The emission remains consistent across low, middle, and high registers, and the response gains flexibility to seamlessly chain articulation, legato, and dynamics without unnecessary effort. The new bell brace, designed for a stable and light connection, contributes to a balanced projection and more open resonance. Aesthetically, the Jupiter engraving on the neck and the bell engraving highlight the premium positioning, while the "silver-plated brass body / lacquered keys" finish offers a very elegant contemporary contrast.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To get the most out of this alto saxophone, you can complement your setup with alto saxophone reeds suited to your style (softer for immediate response, harder for more control), a comfortable saxophone neck
