jupiter-jcr1100sq-sib-argente-429032
JCR1100SQ Bb Silvered

A Jupiter Model Designed to Take You to the Next Level

The Jupiter JCR1100 follows the brand's tradition: offering reliable, well-finished brass instruments that are enjoyable to play, with a design suited to the demands of group playing. Within the Jupiter range, this cornet clearly targets musicians who want to progress beyond a beginner instrument by benefiting from tuning and adjustment options typically sought after in orchestras. Its robust and coherent construction makes it a relevant choice for music schools, concert bands, and ensembles that need a consistent instrument capable of handling a demanding pace without losing precision.

For Which Musicians and Styles?

This B-flat cornet is primarily aimed at intermediate players (from the second year onward) and advanced amateurs seeking a serious instrument for frequent rehearsals, pitch accuracy, and increased comfort. In wind orchestras, brass bands, or fanfares, it offers clear projection and appreciable control in exposed passages. It is also very suitable for classical, pop, and jazz repertoire in section playing, notably thanks to the triggers that allow quick adjustment of sensitive notes and improve overall section tuning.

Sound and Design

With its 11.70 mm bore, the JCR1100 promotes smooth sound production and comfortable playing while maintaining enough density to "carry" within an ensemble. The 120 mm silver-plated brass bell delivers a clear and expressive tonal signature: a centered, bright timbre with clear articulation, without excessive harshness. The silver-plated mouthpipe contributes to a quick response and a precise attack feel, useful for both soft dynamics and crisp attacks.

The key strength of this model remains daily intonation control. The adjustable trigger on the main slide and the trigger on the 3rd valve slide facilitate real-time micro-corrections, particularly useful when temperature changes, when the instrument "warms up," or when tuning to a section. Mechanically, the stainless steel pistons with internal springs aim for a consistent, fast, and reliable stroke: true comfort for fast passages, transitions, and long rehearsals. Finally, the bell reinforced with a brass wire provides welcome rigidity for long-term durability without preventing the instrument from remaining lively and responsive.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain your cornet effectively, piston oil is essential to keep the action smooth and silent, while slide grease helps maintain fluid slides and responsive triggers. A brass cleaning swab (for internal cleaning) and a soft cloth help limit oxidation and preserve the silver-plated finish. Finally, if you play in rehearsals or on stage, a universal trumpet/cornet stand can secure the instrument during breaks, complementing the included case.

Technical specifications

@media(max-width:632px){table[data-wb-spec]{display:grid;grid-template-columns:minmax(0,1fr)
