laney-l20t212-lionheart-231229
L20T212 Lionheart

Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

This Limited Edition is aimed at guitarists who want to rediscover the DNA of classic tube combos while benefiting from a modern speaker and a more versatile approach. The choice of a Class A EL84 and a 2 x 12-inch format places this amp in a premium category: combos capable of delivering true band volume while remaining expressive and nuanced with the right hand.

Who This Amp Is For

This 20W tube guitar amp targets the intermediate to advanced musician seeking an inspiring platform for playing in studio, rehearsal, or on small to medium stages. Its 2 x 12-inch format is particularly relevant for styles where touch matters as much as gain: blues, rock, classic rock, indie, pop, or even melodic punk. With two channels and reverb, it also suits guitarists who alternate between clean rhythms and more biting parts without multiplying settings.

Features and Innovations

The heart of this combo is based on an all-tube architecture: a preamp with 3 x 12AX7 tubes for harmonic richness, and a power section with 4 x EL84 tubes rated as Class A, ideal for achieving organic crunch at realistic volume. The 2 channels allow switching from clean to denser saturation, while the built-in reverb adds depth for lead sounds, arpeggios, or atmospheres. The included LFS2 footswitch facilitates changes in real situations, and the cover protects the amp during transport-a real plus for a 31 kg combo.

The Sound

This is an all-tube amp with a distinctive grain and very responsive dynamics: when you play softly, the sound remains round and detailed, and when you attack harder, the amp "opens up" with progressive and musical saturation. The EL84s bring a singing, slightly compressed character with expressive mids that highlight both single-coil and humbucker guitars. The 2 x 12-inch configuration intelligently blends two Celestion signatures: the G12H 70th Anniversary provides attack, clarity, and well-controlled lows, while the Vintage 30 enhances presence and projection, perfect for cutting through the mix in a band. The result: a full and warm clean, punchy and articulated crunch, and saturation that retains definition even on open chords.

Technical
