ld-systems-ldsub88-caisson-de-basses-2-x-8-pouces-passif-244848
LDSUB88 - 2 X 8-inch subwoofer - Passive

A Compact Subwoofer Designed to Complement a Sound Reinforcement System

This passive 2 x 8-inch subwoofer falls into the category of compact subs designed to add greater depth to the low-frequency range. This type of configuration is particularly appreciated when looking for a good compromise between a manageable footprint, easy transport and serious low-end reinforcement.

With its two 8-inch loudspeakers, this model is designed to deliver a more pronounced low end than a standalone full-range loudspeaker. It naturally fits into a modern sound reinforcement setup where modularity is essential, whether for a lightweight fixed installation or an easy-to-deploy mobile system.

Who Is It For and In What Contexts?

This passive subwoofer is aimed at mobile DJs, entertainers, small event companies, music venues, live musicians and sound providers, as well as users looking to enhance an existing system. It is particularly well suited to those who need a tighter low end without moving to an overly bulky format.

In practice, it can be used for private parties, entertainment events, small live performances, amplified speeches with background music, or installations in spaces where every inch counts. Its 2 x 8-inch format allows for easier transport than larger subwoofers, while still providing valuable support in the low frequencies.

A Simple Passive Design for Integration into a Custom Setup

The main advantage of a passive subwoofer lies in its integration flexibility. Combined with a correctly sized external amplifier, it can be incorporated into a system designed around your needs, with suitable filtering and a well-matched combination with your main loudspeakers. This approach will appeal to users who want to retain control over their choice of amplifier and sound reinforcement chain.

The dual 8-inch configuration promotes a denser low-frequency response than an ultra-compact format, while retaining a discreet visual presence. This type of subwoofer is particularly useful for supporting electronic music, pop, general playlists, small-scale live performances or event soundtracks requiring greater presence in the low end.

In a properly tuned installation, this subwoofer allows the satellite loudspeakers to be relieved of part of their low-frequency workload. The result can be a more balanced sound, improved mix clarity and a more convincing sense of energy at higher volume levels. It is a smart choice for achieving a more complete, more musical and more enjoyable system for extended listening.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Bluetooth

No

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Type

subwoofer

Loudspeaker configuration

2 x 8 inches

Operation

passive

Category

compact sound reinforcement subwoofer

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/add1193a53803117e4af32ad1d37f573929ac5d9_LDSUB88_1.jpg?v=1792614511
