otto-link-serie-l-a-6-tenor-392379
Series L.a. 6* - Tenor
Otto Link L.A.: the Otto Link legacy revisited in a “West Coast” version

With the L.A. model, Otto Link offers a more modern take on its identity: preserving the spirit of a jazz-oriented tenor mouthpiece while providing a more contemporary feel. This approach aims for a “West Coast” sound: more direct, more incisive, and designed for clear projection, without sacrificing the musicality expected from an Otto Link.

Which tenor saxophonist is it for?

This mouthpiece is primarily intended for intermediate to advanced saxophonists (and professionals) looking for a jazz-oriented tenor saxophone mouthpiece capable of delivering a strong presence in both section and lead playing. It is particularly well suited to situations where the sound needs to carry: combos, big bands, groove, funk-jazz, or solo settings requiring precision and power.

The sound and design

The Otto Link L.A. is presented as redefining the tonal character with more punch, greater edge, and focused projection. In practical terms, this translates into a more articulate attack, improved clarity in the mix, and a sense of stability when pushing air through the mouthpiece. Its ebonite construction provides a comfortable feel and a naturally musical tone, while the overall balance emphasizes precise articulation and a response suited to modern playing.

Recommended compatible accessories

To complete your setup, adding tenor saxophone reeds suited to your usual strength can fine-tune the response and resistance, but compatibility depends on the exact reed format and your saxophone: if you tell me your tenor model and your current reed strength, I can guide you more precisely.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Category

tenor saxophone

Style

jazz

Material

Hard rubber

Color

Black

Opening

6E

Finishing

Glossy

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Tip opening

6*

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/7c1671b41177721115a8006c4318f797e45fe586_AOL_TENOR_EBO_LA_652d071d-976e-4da4-b74e-06b18f7c1229.jpg?v=1793752341
