This anniversary edition captures the aesthetic and sonic philosophy of the "old school" drumheads that marked drumming history, with a focus on musicality, control, and authentic feel.

Who This Drumhead Is For

This drumhead is aimed at beginner to advanced drummers seeking an easy-to-tune response and consistent sound. It is particularly suitable for styles where character is desired without excessive overtones: jazz, classic rock, pop, blues, as well as for brush playing thanks to the sable surface. At 12 inches, it is ideal as a tom head and can also be used to refine a vintage-oriented setup.

Features and Innovations

The "Vintage-A" stands out with its 2-ply polyester construction (7.5 mil + 3 mil), designed to replicate the behavior and feel of the earliest generations of Ambassador drumheads. The sable finish improves stick grip, slightly softens the attack, and facilitates stable tuning while maintaining good definition in the mix.

Sound Characteristics

The sable surface provides a rounder attack and a warm texture, while limiting overly intrusive harmonics. The double ply promotes a controlled sound, with shorter sustain and a comfortable playing feel, ideal for achieving a present, musical 12-inch tom sound that is easy to place both in the studio and on stage.

Technical
