roland-perchette-cymbale-mdy-stg-340677
MDY-STG - STAGE CYMBAL MOUNT

Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range

The Roland MDY-STG fits within the modular logic of the V-Drums range: allowing drummers to adapt and evolve their electronic kit over time. Positioned as an extension solution dedicated to Roland MDS racks, it addresses a common need: adding a crash, splash, or effect cymbal while maintaining a clean, stable setup consistent with the original hardware.

Who This Drum/Cymbal Stand Is For

The MDY-STG is aimed at all drummers equipped with a compatible Roland rack, from the beginner looking to complete a basic kit to the intermediate or advanced musician seeking ergonomics closer to an acoustic drum set. It is particularly suitable for configurations oriented towards rock, pop, metal, or funk, where adding a dedicated cymbal (extra crash, china, splash) enhances playing comfort and dynamic control.

Features and Innovations

Designed for Roland racks, the MDY-STG combines a ball-mounted rod and a boom arm to multiply adjustment possibilities. The clamp ensures a fixation compatible with MDS series racks, convenient for reinforcing an existing setup without altering the kit's architecture. The assembly allows positioning in straight stand mode (more compact, direct) or boom arm mode (greater reach and placement freedom), useful for optimizing space, attack angle, and playability.

Sound Characteristics

As a cymbal boom arm for electronic drums, the MDY-STG does not directly influence timbre as a wood choice would on an acoustic drum kit. Its impact lies more in the quality of play : a stable and precise positioning of the V-Cymbal pad helps regain natural reference points, control dynamics, and work on consistent strikes.

Thanks to angle adjustment via the ball joint and mounting options (straight or boom), you can place the cymbal at the height and tilt that promote comfortable striking. The result: better execution consistency, easier expressiveness management, and a feel closer to a well-tuned acoustic set.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Category

accessory

Color

Grey

Type

cymbal

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Compatible racks

MDS-25

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/9d2c071dae8090568cfe6e3f621e4218cb24b20f_ROLAND_MDY_STG.jpg?v=1792537526
