sela-percussion-wind-gong-mantra-24-436825
Wind Gong 24" Mantra

Historical context and position within the range

The wind gong is one of the great classics of Asian percussion. Its flat profile, with no pronounced rim, allows it to develop a broad, even sound field, highly sought after in relaxation, sound bath, meditation and contemporary musical exploration settings. This type of gong is appreciated as much for its acoustic presence as for its ability to create an atmosphere within just a few strikes.

The " Mantra " version focuses on the instrument's visual and symbolic dimension. Its low-sheen dark surface contrasts with lighter engravings that reveal the bronze tone and create a dense design centered around an Om symbol. This positioning makes it a particularly appealing model for musicians, sound practitioners and wellness spaces looking for an expressive instrument that also makes a strong aesthetic statement.

Who this gong is for

This gong is suitable for a wide range of users. Beginners will find it accessible, capable of producing an enveloping sound texture immediately without requiring complex technique. More advanced percussionists, sound therapists and performing musicians will appreciate its nuanced response, long sustain and range of overtones, which allow them to work with both clear attacks and gradual swells.

It is particularly well suited to meditative settings, ambient music, percussion performances, yoga, relaxation sessions and sound installations. With its 60 cm diameter, it offers a good balance between depth, projection and ease of handling, making it equally relevant in the studio, in a practice room or in a space dedicated to sound therapy.

Technical specifications

@media(max-width:632px){table[data-wb-spec]{display:grid;grid-template-columns:minmax(0,1fr)
