sparedrum-hsf23-12-12-simple-flange-2-3mm-226218
HSF23-12 - 12" 2.3MM SINGLE FLANGE DRUM HOOP

Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

The single flange hoop is one of the classic staples of drum hardware, appreciated for its more "lively" behavior compared to a die-cast hoop. On a tom or mini snare drum, this type of hoop favors sound openness and note length, making it a relevant choice for a setup oriented towards musicality and resonance.

Who This Drum/Hoop Is For

This 12-inch hoop is aimed at drummers, from beginners to advanced, who want to optimize the response of their tom or mini snare, or replace an original hoop. It is particularly suitable for styles where air and note clarity are sought (pop, rock, funk, indie, studio), while remaining effective for medium to high tunings.

Features and Innovations

Made of stamped and chromed steel, this 2.3 mm single flange hoop offers a direct playing feel and reliable tuning stability, while maintaining a more flexible interaction with the drumhead. Note: for proper installation, it is designed to be used with DC17 snare hooks to ensure a clean mount and appropriate tension.

The Sound

The choice of a single flange hoop clearly influences the tonal character: it allows the drumhead and shell to vibrate more, resulting in a more open sound and longer sustain. On a 12-inch tom, this helps achieve a round and full note. On a mini snare, it enhances resonance and timbre width, with a less "restricted" feel compared to some heavier hoops.

Technical specifications

<colgroup><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"><col style="width:25%"></colgroup>

Type

single flange

Diameter

12 inches

Thickness

2.3 mm

Use

tom or mini snare drum

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/0872/6803/files/7de83050fff51ab8b817b3eb15b8e60ead2b9d5c_SD_HSF23_12.jpg?v=1792666605
