A direct successor to the MPC One and MPC One+, this new generation retains the compact and immediate approach that made it successful, but adds a significantly more powerful hardware platform to meet the demands of today's producers.
Its deep blue color echoes iconic machines like the MPC1000 and MPC4000, giving it a strong visual personality. The MPC One G2 is aimed both at musicians already familiar with the MPC universe and producers looking to move to a smoother, more autonomous setup. Its interface remains accessible thanks to 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads, dedicated controls, and the touchscreen, while its extra power supports more advanced uses without feeling limited.
It naturally fits into hip-hop, electro, house, techno, trap, pop, lo-fi, ambient production, or scoring for visual media. In the studio, it becomes a complete creative hub for sequencing, sampling, arranging, and finalizing tracks. On stage, its compact size, expressive pads, and real-time launch functions make it a highly effective machine for performing, improvising, and reconstructing a live set.

Features and New Additions

More than just a sampler, the MPC One G2 is a true hybrid production groovebox. Its new eight-core G2 processor, combined with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, provides real comfort when working on loaded sessions. The machine can host up to 32 simultaneous plugin instances and up to 16 stereo audio tracks, opening the door to much richer arrangements than before in this format. Project loading is faster, navigation smoother, and the overall experience inspires more freedom from the first minutes of use.
The MPC 3 OS environment offers a more modern approach to composition. The individual track system improves project readability, while the linear arrangement timeline facilitates building a complete track from the initial idea to the final version. Sections can be named and visually differentiated, making work much more intuitive on long structures. The disk streaming feature, especially valuable on large projects, allows handling bigger sessions without saturating the machine's internal memory.
At the heart of the experience are the 16 MPC pads across 8 banks, still as effective for finger drumming, sample triggering, rhythmic programming, or expressive playing. The 4 touch-sensitive Q-Link encoders allow quick adjustments of essential parameters, while numerous dedicated buttons speed up access to sequencing, editing, and performance functions. The 7-inch backlit color touchscreen further enhances this sense of autonomy, with clear and direct navigation.
On the creative tools side, the MPC One G2 comes with an enriched library of ready-to-use sounds, kits, and virtual instruments. The partnership between Akai Pro and Native Instruments also brings new plugins designed for the MPC ecosystem. Users who want to go further can exploit Pro Stems to isolate drums, bass, melody, or vocals from a recording, or extend possibilities with the Pro Pack for real-time clip launching as well as Super Timestretch and Re-Pitch processing.
Connectivity is finally one of the major strengths of this generation. The USB-C port plays a central role by providing up to 24 audio channels and 32 MIDI channels between the MPC and a computer, but also sampling from a smartphone, tablet, or compatible computer. Added to this are balanced audio inputs and outputs, headphone output, 5-pin MIDI, USB-A port, CV/Gate outputs for modular gear control, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Compatibility with Ableton Live, via Ableton Control mode and native project import/export, makes it a particularly flexible solution for those working between standalone machine and DAW.
