Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
The Rootmaster series was designed to deliver the Ashdown sound and serious playing power while avoiding the bulk and weight sometimes associated with some of the brand's iconic models. With this EVO III generation, Ashdown updates the amp head for current live and studio uses, notably thanks to a more flexible DI oriented towards "ready-for-front-of-house" sound, without compromising a philosophy of simple and effective control.
Who This Amp Is For
The Rootmaster EVO III 800 is aimed at bassists who want a powerful and versatile amp head capable of holding its own in an energetic band while remaining manageable at low volume. It suits both intermediate musicians looking for a reliable and complete solution and advanced players needing a usable DI for direct sound. Perfect for rehearsal, stage (including with in-ears), and recording when you want a quickly sculpted tone. Style-wise, it handles everything from rock to metal, funk to pop, and more broadly whenever a solid low-end foundation and clear mids in the mix are required.
