This upgrade includes key elements that directly contribute to the signature: a custom Cinemag output transformer and a carefully selected 34 mm CK12 edge-terminated capsule. Designed as a large-diaphragm condenser microphone oriented toward recording, the BV-1 mkII naturally excels on vocals: lead, spoken word, choirs, intimate or more projected voices. The proximity effect combined with a solid low end provides an immediate "large" microphone feel, delivering presence without harshness.

Variable Polar Pattern: Adapt the Mic to the Room and Mix

The BV-1 mkII offers a variable polar pattern ranging from omnidirectional to cardioid to figure 8. In omni, you gain naturalness and openness, ideal for a nice room or acoustic instruments. In cardioid, you maximize focus and isolation. The 80 Hz high-pass filter helps clean up rumble, mic stand vibrations, or excessive proximity effect while maintaining a natural foundation. The -10 dB pad extends the headroom and allows for louder sources: the maximum SPL reaches 144 dB with attenuation engaged, practical on brass, percussion, or certain amp captures.
