Bitwig Studio Producer is an audio and MIDI sequencer (DAW) designed to create, record, arrange, and mix tracks with a modern approach, equally comfortable in the studio and live. Its hybrid environment allows seamless switching between linear arranger and clip launcher, making it ideal for electronic music, beatmaking, scoring to picture, pop production, or performance-oriented setups.
Thanks to its advanced clip, automation, and routing management, you can build a track iteratively, improvise structures, then finalize the arrangement at the right moment without breaking your creative flow.

Hybrid Workflow: Clips, Arranger, and Mixing

Bitwig Studio Producer combines hybrid tracks, clip launcher, arranger, and mixer within a unified production logic. You can quickly switch between projects while maintaining a clear environment for editing, sound design, and automation. Clip automation options and the dynamic inspector facilitate precision without overloading the session.

Editing and Variations: Comping, Operators, and Quick Start

Clip-based comping with color-coded takes speeds up selecting the best performances (vocals, guitar, recorded synths, etc.). Operators add extended playback options and transformation possibilities for clips and events, useful for creating variations, non-destructive edits, and evolving arrangements.

Sampler and Rhythmic Creation: Slice to Multisample or Drum Machine

To quickly build your instruments from your sounds, the Slice to Multisample and Slice To Drum Machine functions allow efficient mapping of your own samples. Whether transforming a loop into a kit, distributing takes across the keyboard, or generating a beatmaking foundation, this approach promotes fast and structured production.

Plug-ins, Stability, and Hardware Integration

Bitwig supports a wide range of VST and CLAP plug-ins (with sidechain) and offers sandbox operation for plug-ins to protect the application from crashes. On the hardware side, the software can manage output of analog clock signals and control voltages (CV) or integration of CV-controlled instruments, as well as MIDI-controlled hardware instruments/effects, provided an appropriate audio/MIDI interface is used.

Controllers, MPE, and Multi-Screen

Support for numerous MIDI controllers, native MPE compatibility, and an open controller API (for your own scripts) make it a workstation suited for expressive keyboards, pad controllers, and custom setups.
