An Accessory Designed for the Bose Professional CSP Ecosystem

The Bose Pro AVM-1 fits within the logic of Bose Professional systems intended for installed environments (retail, reception areas, multipurpose rooms, circulation zones) where consistent sound levels and intelligibility must remain stable even as ambient conditions change. This detector microphone was designed to operate natively with processors from the CSP range, providing the system with usable sound capture information within a centralized audio architecture. The result: a clean, compact solution that is easy to integrate into an installation project.

Who Is This Detector Microphone For and What Are Its Uses?

The AVM-1 is aimed at integrators, installers, and sound engineers deploying Bose Professional systems based on the CSP-428 or CSP-1248. Its role is that of a detection microphone: it is suitable when an omnidirectional capture point is needed, discreetly positioned, to provide sound level measurement to the processor. Its spring clip mounting allows quick installation on a suitable support (panel, furniture, structural element), while maintaining minimal visual presence thanks to its white finish.

Key Features and Installation Integration

Omnidirectional Electret Capsule: Uniform Capture

Equipped with an electret condenser capsule and omnidirectional directivity, the AVM-1 favors wide and consistent capture. This approach is particularly relevant for a detection function, where a coherent representation of the ambient sound is sought rather than a highly directional focus. Its specified frequency response from 100 Hz to 6 kHz targets the essential range for measurement and use in installations, focusing on frequency bands useful for ambient monitoring.

High Input Level and Low Distortion for Reliable Measurement

With a maximum input level of 115 dB SPL, the AVM-1 can be placed in loud sound environments while maintaining operational headroom. The specified THD+N below 1% at 1 kHz (1 Pa, 94 dB SPL) also contributes to clean capture under reference conditions, facilitating stable integration within a processing chain.

Screw Terminal Connectivity and 48 V Phantom Power: Clean Wiring, Easier Maintenance

Designed for fixed installation, this microphone uses 3 screw terminals for bare wire, convenient for neat wiring in a rack, technical enclosure, or flush distribution. It requires 48 V phantom power, standard in many professional audio environments, simplifying integration as long as the processor or installation infrastructure provides this power.

Spring Clip Mounting: Discreet and Quick

The spring clip mounting system (up to 25 mm thickness) enables quick installation and stable retention on compatible supports. Combined with a compact form factor, it allows positioning the microphone where it is needed without impacting the aesthetics of a public space.
