A San Dimas Pro-Mod Designed for Modern Performance
The San Dimas embodies Charvel's vision of the "superstrat": a guitar built for speed, ergonomics, and powerful tones. This Pro-Mod Plus version takes the concept further with stage-oriented craftsmanship (ergonomic heel, recessed Floyd tremolo) and renowned Seymour Duncan electronics to meet the demands of today's rock and metal guitarists.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
This Charvel is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert players seeking a responsive, precise electric guitar ready for modern techniques (locking tremolo, aggressive bends, fast playing). It excels in hard rock, metal, shred, and alternative rock, while still capable of nuanced textures thanks to the coil combinations offered by the 5-position selector.
The Sound
The alder body provides a very effective balance: clear lows, present mids, and articulate highs, perfect for precise riffs and leads that cut through the mix. The Seymour Duncan JB at the bridge delivers a generous output level, with punchy mids and excellent definition when overdriven. At the neck, the Seymour Duncan '59 offers a more open and singing tone, ideal for fluid solos and rounder clean sounds. The 5-position selector combines humbuckers and specific coils (inner/outer) to expand the tonal palette, while the Bourns Low Friction volume and No-Load tone enable quick adjustments and very direct response. The Floyd Rose 1500 adds a sharp attack and the typical "elastic" feel, with solid tuning stability when properly set up.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel, prefer electric string sets in .009-.042 gauge (nickel plated steel) as indicated on the spec sheet. A standard strap, a guitar stand, and a 6.35 mm jack cable are also suitable for this instrument. A gig bag is already included.
