Developed in close collaboration with Guthrie Govan, this Charvel signature model adopts the iconic San Dimas Style 1 silhouette and clearly focuses on modern performance: fast playability, flexible electronics, and hardware designed to handle expressive playing. It fits within Charvel's tradition of "hot-rodded" guitars, crafted for precision and versatility, while maintaining a sleek aesthetic thanks to the satin finish.

This electric guitar is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking excellent finger response, solid intonation, and a wide sonic palette without complications. The HSH configuration naturally covers rock, fusion, prog, modern metal, as well as detailed clean tones and articulate crunches thanks to coil combinations and single-coil simulation.

Sound

The combination of basswood (body) and ash (top) aims for an effective balance: present mids and even response, with a clear attack and good definition, enhanced by the "fast" feel of the caramelized maple neck. The two Charvel Custom humbuckers provide output level, sustain, and ideal thickness for lead playing, while the single-coil middle pickup adds snap for rhythm parts and more "glassy" tones.

The 5-position selector multiplies textures (full humbucker, combinations with inner/outer coils), and the mini-toggle allows for a finer, brighter response on the bridge (pos 1) and neck (pos 5) humbucker positions. The recessed locking tremolo and locking tuners contribute to tuning stability, even with expressive vibrato use.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay true to the original spirit, a set of nickel steel strings gauge .010-.046 is perfectly suited. For stage or studio use, a 6.35 mm instrument jack cable is required to utilize the electronics, and the Charvel Style 1/2 case is already included for transport and protection.
