A "vintage" dreadnought at the heart of the Earth series

Designed as a tribute to great vintage-inspired folk acoustics, Cort's Earth series embraces proven fundamentals: simple and effective lutherie, recognized tonewoods, and playability designed to last. The Earth 70 E70OP fits this philosophy with a no-frills approach focused on essentials: warm sound, balanced response, and reliability appreciated daily, whether in rehearsal or on stage.

For whom and for which styles?

Versatile by nature, the Cort Earth 70 E70OP suits both beginner guitarists seeking a serious first folk guitar and intermediate musicians wanting an effective dreadnought to play anywhere. Its format and dynamics make it comfortable in pop, folk, acoustic rock, country, and vocal accompaniment. It responds well to pick playing for rhythm parts while remaining expressive with fingers for arpeggios.

The sound

The solid spruce top delivers clarity, precision, and dynamic reserve: the harder you play, the more projection it offers without compression. The dreadnought format enhances low-end breadth and provides a strong presence in rhythm playing. The back and sides in mahogany (okoume) add warm mids and a natural character, ideal for a round and balanced tone. The X-bracing supports the top and contributes to the projection/sustain balance, while the carved bridge (Cort design) promotes sustain and contributes to a more comfortable tension feel along the neck. The Open Pores finish allows the wood to breathe better and reinforces this impression of "direct" resonance.

Recommended compatible accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original feel, you can opt for D'Addario EXP16 strings (light gauge), as per the factory setup. A folk guitar capo and an acoustic guitar strap (with appropriate attachment) effectively complete the gear for stage, home, or rehearsal use.
