The INGENIA Series: A Speaker Designed to Evolve from "Solo" to Coupled System
The db Technologie Ingenia IG3 T follows a modern sound reinforcement approach: each speaker is designed to be fully functional on its own, while quickly transformable into a more ambitious system. The range's concept is based on a simple and effective principle: just flip a second speaker and place it on top of the first to create a coherent vertical array. The benefit is not only mechanical: the onboard electronics, via position detection (infrared port), recognize the presence of the second unit and automatically adjust parameters to preserve acoustic coherence and coverage.
Who is the Ingenia IG3 T For and What Are Its Applications?
This 2-way active speaker targets users seeking professional sound reinforcement with fast setup: live performances, DJs, conferences, multipurpose venues, corporate events, rooms requiring excellent intelligibility. In standalone mode, the IG3 T offers an efficient format to sound a space with a powerful point source. In coupled mode, it becomes particularly relevant when the coverage area demands more reach and vertical control, without multiplying stands, adjustment angles, or coverage calculations.
Thanks to its interface and processing, it adapts equally well to a technical team or a solo user: saving time during setup while retaining advanced settings (mixing, equalization, coverage orientation, input levels) directly on the speaker.
Key Technologies: Coverage, Coupling, DSP, and Onboard Control
Automatic Coupling via Infrared and Position Detection (EPD)
The Ingenia IG3 T can operate as a standalone system or in pairs. When a second speaker is added and positioned according to the series' coupling principle, infrared technology enables presence detection and an onboard assistant automatically configures the system. The goal is clear: achieve the best possible coverage and optimal acoustic coherence without complex setup.
CEC Horn: Constant Horizontal Dispersion, Controlled Verticality
The IG3 T's horn is designed to be horizontally symmetrical and vertically asymmetrical. Practically, horizontal dispersion remains wide and consistent, while vertical dispersion is narrower at the top and wider at the bottom. This behavior is particularly useful when coupling two speakers: high frequencies combine more cleanly, limiting interference and improving coverage uniformity.
Digital Beam Steering: Adjust Projection Without Moving the Speaker
The IG3 T integrates a digital beam steering function that processes coverage to adjust it without physically changing the enclosure's orientation. The result: improved intelligibility across the listening area, with more uniform dispersion, especially appreciated in demanding contexts (seated/standing audiences, variable room depth, placement constraints).
DSP and OLED Interface: Direct, Clear, and Efficient Control
Control is via an intuitive OLED screen, paired with a rotary encoder with switch function and auto-rotating display. Behind this ergonomics lies advanced DSP processing (56-bit DSP, 24-bit/48 kHz conversion, linear phase FIR processing), factory presets and user-defined settings, as well as protection management via limiters (Peak, RMS, thermal). All contribute to reliable and consistent sound reproduction, even at sustained levels.
Finally, the design facilitates safe coupling: feet and recesses on top and bottom ensure alignment, and dedicated accessories (LP-IG for coupling, DRK-IG for vertical array suspension) allow adapting the setup for stage or installation.

Questions frequently asked
What power and SPL level does the DB Technologies Ingenia IG3t have?
The class D Digipro G3 amplifier delivers 900 W RMS and 1,800 W peak. The maximum stated sound pressure level reaches 132 dB.
How to couple two Ingenia IG3 T speakers?
Two units can be stacked by turning the second speaker upside down on the first. The infrared EPD position detection recognizes the coupling and automatically adjusts the settings. The LP-IG accessory is designed to secure this configuration.
What dispersion does this active speaker offer?
The CEC horn provides coverage of 110° horizontally and 90° vertically, with an asymmetry of +20°/-70°. Digital steering allows adjustment of the projection without moving the speaker.
Is the IG3 T suitable for conferences and DJ performances?
This 2-way active speaker is intended for live performances, DJ sets, conferences, corporate events, and multi-purpose venues. Its two 10-inch neodymium drivers and 1.4-inch compression driver are combined with a crossover frequency of 1,100 Hz.
What controls are available on the speaker's screen?
The auto-rotating OLED interface, operated by a rotary control with a switch, provides access to factory presets and user settings. The 56-bit DSP includes a linear phase FIR processing and Peak, RMS, and thermal limiters.
