ZonePRO: an "installation" approach designed for multi-source distribution
The ZonePRO series was designed to meet the demands of fixed installations: reliability, repeatability of settings, and management of multiple sources to multiple zones. This 6 x 4 model with display fits this logic by combining, in a 1U chassis, digital conversion and full DSP processing to ensure coherent and protected sound distribution day after day.
Who is this ZonePRO 6 x 4 for, and when to use it?
This processor is particularly suited for environments such as restaurants, bars, conference centers, performance halls, and nightclubs, where multiple sources (background music, player, computer, microphone(s), control room) must be managed and different zones or distribution lines fed. The balanced mic/line inputs on Euroblock facilitate clean integration in technical racks, while the RCA inputs allow easy connection of consumer stereo sources.
DSP processing, protections, and control: essentials for controlled sound distribution
Processing for quality and intelligibility
Once analog signals are converted to digital, the internal DSP takes over to apply necessary processing for the installation: mixing, parametric equalizer, crossover, high-pass and low-pass filters, as well as notch filter. The goal is to shape the signal according to the speakers, the room, and the usage (voice, background music, more energetic playback).
Control and protection tools
To stabilize the sound distribution and protect the system, the ZonePRO integrates a range of field-oriented processing: compressor, limiter, noise gate, automatic gain control, and feedback eliminator. These functions help maintain a consistent level, contain peaks, and limit microphone feedback risks, while keeping a comfortable listening experience for the audience.
Programming, autonomy, and front panel control
Settings are made from a PC computer, then the device operates autonomously. On the version with display, daily operation is simplified thanks to dedicated front panel buttons allowing recall, activation, and adjustment of programs (source, level, program assignment). Programs can also be recalled via optional flush-mount wall remote controls depending on the installation.

Questions frequently asked
How many sources can the DBX 640M handle?
The processor accepts 2 stereo sources on unbalanced RCA inputs and 4 microphone or line sources on balanced Euroblock connectors. Four balanced outputs on Euroblock allow feeding different broadcast zones.
Is the DBX 640M suitable for a restaurant installation with multiple zones?
This model is designed for fixed installations such as restaurants, bars, conference centers, or performance halls. Its 6 inputs / 4 outputs architecture enables distributing multiple sources to different zones.
What DSP processing features are available on this zone processor?
The DSP includes mixing, parametric equalization, crossover, high-pass and low-pass filters, and notch filter. Protection features include compressor, limiter, noise gate, automatic gain control, and feedback eliminator. Conversion is performed at 24 bits / 48 kHz.
Can programs be adjusted directly on the front panel?
The display and dedicated buttons allow recalling, enabling, and adjusting programs, including source, level, and assignment. Initial configuration is done via a PC computer, then the unit operates autonomously.
What rack format and audio performance does the ZonePRO 640M offer?
With a height of 1U, the unit fits into a technical rack. The specified bandwidth is 20 Hz to 20 kHz at ±0.5 dB, with a dynamic range exceeding 109 dBA.
