A 16-Inch Archtop in the Great Jazz Tradition
Designed in the spirit of classic stage hollowbodies, the AR372CE-SB belongs to the lineage of 16" archtops: comfortable body, classic aesthetics, and craftsmanship focused on reliability. The use of laminated maple with parallel bracing offers the expected stability for club and studio settings, while retaining the "pop" and articulation characteristic of archtops.
For Which Musician and Styles?
Ideal for intermediate to expert guitarists seeking an expressive and versatile jazz guitar. It excels in traditional jazz, bebop, swing, and soul, while also being credible in blues, bossa, and vintage pop thanks to its musical humbuckers and easy-to-handle 16" body.
Sound Characteristics
The laminated maple combined with parallel bracing delivers focused mids, clear attacks, and good resistance to feedback. The two humbuckers provide round and silky tones: neck pickup for warm pads and muted chords, bridge pickup for more clarity and presence. The 24.75" scale length softens string tension for smooth legato and precise bends, while the compensated rosewood bridge promotes intonation and natural sustain, ideal for singing jazz lines.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To preserve the instrument's character and optimize comfort, choose steel strings .012-.052 like the D'Addario EJ21 (original setup) or a set of flatwound .012-.052 for an even mellower tone. Add a leather strap with standard attachments and a quality 6.35 mm jack cable for a clean and reliable signal during performances.
