Essential Information About the Eko Ranger 6 Electro Cutaway EQ Brown Sunburst Guitar

  • Electroacoustic Folk Dreadnought: generous projection and ideal presence for playing in a group.

  • Cutaway: easy access to the upper frets without losing the "western" spirit of the format.

  • Built-in Eko SE-30 Preamp: volume, 3-band EQ, phase inversion to prevent feedback, and tuner for the stage.

  • Robust and Accessible Design: a Ranger designed to last, perfect as a first electro-acoustic guitar.

A Ranger That Became a Standard: The Eko Legacy from the 1960s

A true signature of the Italian manufacturer, the Ranger established itself in the 1960s and 1970s with an instantly recognizable look. Born in the Eko workshops under different names (J-52 then J-54), it later took the name Ranger VI and marked generations of guitarists with its reliability, value for money, and iconic style, notably thanks to its "moustache" pickguard. This Ranger 6 Electro Cutaway EQ follows in that tradition, adding modern elements designed for amplification.

For Whom and For What? An Electroacoustic Ready for Rehearsals and Stage

The Eko Ranger 6 Cutaway EQ is aimed both at beginners who want an easy-to-handle electroacoustic folk guitar and at intermediate guitarists looking for a reliable instrument for rehearsals. Its Dreadnought format is particularly suited for accompaniment in pop, rock, folk, variety, and pick playing, while the cutaway helps easily explore higher registers for melodic lines and intros.

The Sound

Built around a spruce top, the Ranger 6 Cutaway EQ favors clarity and attack precision, highly appreciated for clear rhythms and arpeggios. The linden back and sides enhance the instrument's robustness and provide a solid sustain, with the bass presence typical of the Dreadnought format. The X bracing contributes to good dynamic response and effective projection. Plugged in, the Eko SE-30 electronics allow quick balance adjustment (3-band EQ) and feedback reduction via phase inversion, a real plus for stage situations.
