The Meteora at the Top of the American Ultra II Range
Designed in Corona, the American Ultra II Meteora Bass ranks among Fender's most modern instruments. Its selected alder body features a glossy urethane finish and "Ultra" bevels for immediate comfort. The sculpted 5-bolt neck heel facilitates access to all 21 frets, while nickel/chrome hardware and a gold anodized aluminum pickguard provide a distinctly premium aesthetic.
Who Is It For and What Styles?
Designed for demanding stage and studio bassists, this Meteora suits intermediate to expert levels. Its HH configuration and active/passive mode cover a wide range of genres including rock, pop, funk, R&B, and fusion, with impeccable tuning stability and ergonomics that favor pick, fingerstyle, or slap techniques.
Sound
The alder body delivers balanced tone with singing mids, the ebony fingerboard adds attack and definition, and the Haymaker humbuckers provide deep lows with silky highs. In passive mode, you get the authentic Fender grain and great dynamics. In active mode, the Ultra II preamp offers precise controls: bass/treble boost/cut, mid boost/cut with a frequency selector at 325 Hz or 750 Hz to shape punch or presence, plus a blend control to balance neck/bridge pickups. The HiMass bridge and string-through design enhance sustain and projection.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To preserve the instrument's character, we recommend a set of compatible nickel strings 45-105 (Fender 7250M), a standard strap for Fender strap buttons, and a quality 1/4" instrument cable. Deluxe molded case included.
