The "Blackguard" Telecaster: a 1951 reference brought back to prominence

With the American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster, Fender aims for a "vintage-correct" reproduction of the very first Teles produced in the early 1950s. The choice of materials, neck construction, nitro finish, and Pure Vintage electronics are designed to reproduce the aesthetics, feel, and especially the dynamic response that made the "Blackguards" legendary. The result: a characterful, direct, and inspiring guitar, positioned at the top of the traditional-oriented models in the American Vintage II range.

For which guitarists and styles?

This Tele is primarily aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking authentic sensations: a well-defined "U" profile neck, 7.25" / 184.1 mm radius faithful to the era, and a "plug and play" spirit. It excels in country, rock'n'roll, rockabilly, blues, soul, and indie, both in the studio and on stage, whenever a precise, punchy, and expressive sound is desired.

Sound

The pair of Pure Vintage '51 single-coil pickups delivers the Telecaster signature in its most classic form: a sharp and focused bridge pickup, ideal for twang and pick attacks, and a rounder, woody, and singing neck pickup for bluesy phrasing. The ash + maple combination enhances clarity, definition, and attack, while the 3-saddle brass bridge boosts sustain and adds a smooth brightness. With volume, tone, and a 3-position selector, everything is played by touch: the guitar immediately responds to playing nuances.

Recommended compatible accessories

Delivered in a vintage-style tweed hard case, it accepts a set of nickel-plated steel electric strings .010-.046 (Fender USA 250R type factory-installed), a standard electric guitar strap, and a quality 6.35 mm instrument jack cable. To preserve the finish and avoid marks, use maintenance products suitable for a nitrocellulose finish.
