A Boundary Designed for Everyday Efficiency
With the Boundary series, FGN offers an electric guitar focused on "field" use: direct playability, comprehensive electronics, and classic wood choices to cover a wide musical spectrum. The BST-M/OLW fits this spirit with simple and proven luthiery, ideal for rehearsing, recording, and gigging without hassle.
Who Is It For, and Which Styles?
The FGN Boundary BST-M/OLW is well suited for demanding beginners as well as intermediate players seeking a reliable and versatile guitar. Its S-S-S configuration and 5-position selector make it comfortable in pop, funk, blues, rock, and indie, delivering clear, articulate tones and saturations that retain definition.
Sound Characteristics
The basswood body promotes a balanced output, with present mids and a consistent response, practical for switching from bright clean tones to more aggressive crunches. The combination of maple neck and maple fingerboard adds attack and a sense of precision, particularly appreciated on rhythm parts and funky licks.
The FGN pickups BOS-n (neck), BOS-n (rwrp) (middle), and BOS-b (bridge) offer a complete palette: warmth at the neck, balance in the middle, and more bite at the bridge. The middle pickup in rwrp (reverse wound, reverse polarity) helps achieve cleaner and more musical intermediate positions. The 1 volume and 2 tone controls allow quick tonal shaping, from snappy cleans to smoother leads.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the same feel and tension as the original setup, use a set of D'Addario EXL120 09-42 strings (identical to the installed reference).
