Odyssey: the "super strat" spirit, FGN style

With the Odyssey series, FGN (Fujigen Inc.) offers a modern interpretation of a classic electric guitar: solid body ergonomics, fast playability, and electronics designed to cover a wide range of tones. The presence of the Circle Fretting System aligns with this pursuit of accuracy and consistency across the entire neck, making the instrument equally enjoyable in the studio and live settings.

For which guitarist and styles?

The FGN JOS2DUEW2R/KNB Odyssey is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a "Swiss Army knife" guitar without compromising on hardware quality. Thanks to its HSS configuration and the high pickup split, it excels in rock, pop, funk, blues, and can venture into more modern territories when using the humbucker. The 25.5" scale length (648 mm) provides tension, attack precision, and good definition on both open chords and riffs.

Sound

The ash body offers a dynamic foundation with a crisp attack and clear articulation, while the acacia koa top adds warmth and harmonic richness, particularly pleasant on clean and slightly crunchy tones. The combination of a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard balances brightness and roundness, and the compound radius 10-14" (254-356 mm) promotes comfort for chords and stability for bends higher up the neck.

Regarding pickups, the set is very comprehensive: the Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APS-1 in the neck position delivers smooth and singing cleans, the SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Strat in the middle provides vintage snap and rich intermediate positions, and the Seymour Duncan Pegasus-4 in the bridge offers a more modern gain reserve with body. The humbucker split further expands the palette to recover finer and more percussive textures.

Recommended compatible accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original setup, favor D'Addario EXL110 Nickel Wound Regular Light 10-46 strings as replacements (same gauge and reference as the factory setup).
