What GForce Oberheim SEM Is For
GForce Oberheim SEM is a virtual instrument designed to recreate the iconic sound of the 1974 Synthesizer Expander Module within your DAW or in standalone mode. It is used to produce rich and lively monophonic timbres typical of classic analog synths: round bass lines, cutting leads, musical filter sweeps, and rhythmic patterns via the arpeggiator and sequencer. Its personality stands out through an organic rendering, ideal in pop, rock, synthwave, electro, ambient, or film music, whenever you seek an expressive synth that effortlessly "fills" the mix.Main Features
The SEM Character, Down to the Details
At the heart of the instrument lies the SEM's DNA: two VCOs with Pulse and Sawtooth waveforms, two ADS envelopes, one LFO, and especially the legendary Multi-Mode filter capable of sculpting textures ranging from velvet to biting. The emulation also includes the micro-variations and imperfections typical of analog gear, for a more lively playing feel and a naturally musical sonic presence.Smart Enhancements to Go Further
Without betraying the original simplicity, the SEM gains modern tools: a VCO3 to expand the palette (additional modulations, FM, audio-rate LFO), tempo-synchronizable LFOs, and more expressive performance control thanks to velocity and aftertouch. To turn an idea into a groove, the arpeggiator and sequencer speed up composition, while the stereo delay and reverb add depth and width without complicating routing.Presets and Library Integration
With 400+ patches designed to integrate easily into a mix, the browser and keyboard navigation allow you to quickly find the right starting point. Presets can also be exported and imported with OB-E, convenient for sketching a sound in mono and then making it polyphonic according to your needs.Technical specifications
