A New Generation 5th Avenue: The Archtop Spirit in Jumbo Format
Based on the concept of the renowned 5th Avenue series, the Godin 5th Avenue Jumbo P90 takes the idea of an accessible and inspiring archtop further. Its deeper body naturally enhances presence in the lower mids and the sensation of a "big sound" under the fingers, while maintaining the elegance of the vintage look. The rustic satin Harvest Gold finish highlights its stage personality, from jazz clubs to more electric settings.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
This electric archtop is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking an expressive instrument, responsive to touch and stage-ready. Its range is very broad: warm jazz on the neck pickup, punchy blues, crisp country, and vintage-character rock when pushing the amp. The shorter scale facilitates bends, enriched chords, and rhythmic playing, with a softer string tension.
Sound
The archtop construction and "Jumbo" body promote generous projection and beautiful breadth, particularly noticeable on chords and melodic lines. The Canadian cherry (top, back, sides) provides a very musical balance: present mids, round lows, and clear attack, ideal for moving from soft accompaniment to more assertive phrases. The two Godin Kingpin P90s offer the typical blend of warmth and bite: more grain and dynamics than a traditional single-coil pickup, while retaining air and detail. With the 3-position selector and the volume / tone controls, you can easily sculpt textures ranging from velvety clean tones to retro crunches, with a true "old school" personality.
