A Streamliner Designed for the Gretsch Spirit, Accessible and Modern
The G2420T Streamliner embodies the Gretsch philosophy: a hollow body guitar with an iconic look, focused on playing pleasure and a distinctive sonic identity. In this "Single-Cut" version with Bigsby, it combines a hollow laminated maple construction with modern electronics, notably thanks to the Broad'Tron BT-3S pickups and coil split, to broaden the range without losing the personality of the Streamliner series.
For Which Guitarist and Styles?
This hollow body electric guitar is particularly aimed at beginner to intermediate guitarists who want to experience the feel of a hollow body, but also at more experienced musicians looking for a second, characterful guitar. It excels in rock'n'roll, blues, country, jazz, and indie, with a great ability to shift from warm and round tones to more biting textures thanks to the coil split feature.
The Sound
The arched laminated maple hollow body provides a sense of air and depth, with a soft attack and natural resonance reminiscent of the typical "kick drum sound" of hollow bodies. The parallel tone bar bracing promotes a broad response and strong presence in the low mids. Regarding pickups, the Broad'Tron BT-3S deliver a very musical balance: stronger mids, full but controlled lows, and clear and soft highs. The coil split push/pull adds finer and brighter tones, useful for articulated rhythms and sharper cleans.
