A Memoir Inspired by the 1920s, Revisited for Modern Playing
The P-250E Memoir embraces Guild's beloved "vintage" aesthetic, with a mother-of-pearl rosette inspired by early designs and the Guild Script logo reminiscent of early 20th-century instruments. Based on the P-240 Memoir, it features a 14-fret neck joint here (in the spirit of the DS-240 Memoir), a choice that provides more attack and clarity while improving access to the upper frets.
For Which Guitarist and Styles?
Thanks to its small size and responsive character, this Guild is well suited for beginner to intermediate guitarists seeking a comfortable acoustic, as well as seasoned musicians wanting a second guitar with a "roots" vibe. It excels in folk, blues, ragtime, and vocal accompaniment, and its Fishman system makes it easy to transition to amplified stage or rehearsal settings.
Sound
The solid spruce top delivers precise attack and good dynamics: the guitar responds quickly, highlighting the nuances of both fingerstyle and pick playing. The pau ferro back and sides contribute to clear definition and natural balance, with readable mids and highs that maintain presence without harshness. The 14-fret design enhances brightness and articulation, ideal for clear rhythmic parts and standout melodic lines.
