When Viking DNA Meets the Tremar Vibrato

The Tremar Viking Baritone DLX combines two pillars of the brand: the Viking Baritone platform, appreciated for its low register and versatility, and Hagstrom's Tremar vibrato. The result is a guitar designed as a true creative tool: a semi-hollow base with a broad character, enriched by a vibrato that invites pitch variations, wavering chords, and more expressive melodic lines, without losing the "guitarist" spirit of an instrument crafted for modern playing.

Who Is It For, and Which Styles?

This baritone is mainly aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want to expand their palette: low tunings (standard B, A, drop tunings), precise pick playing, or more cinematic atmospheres. It excels in alternative rock, modern metal, post-rock, heavy blues, indie, shoegaze, and composition. The semi-hollow format adds breadth and depth, while the center block helps control feedback to keep it usable in rehearsals and on stage.

The Sound

The semi-hollow maple body delivers a clear attack and good definition, with an "airy" resonance that highlights chords and harmonics. The solid center block enhances note sustain and stability at high volume, maintaining solid sustain despite the semi-hollow construction. On the electronics side, the P-Urified neck pickup (P-90 size, humbucking design) offers present lows and a rich texture, ideal for singing leads and thick rhythms. The Custom 58C bridge pickup (high output) pushes the amp harder, with a tight low end and a sharp attack, very effective for baritone riffs. The 3-position selector switch and 2 volume / 2 tone wiring allow quick refinement of the balance between clarity, saturation, and dynamics, while the Tremar vibrato opens the door to subtle vibratos as well as more pronounced modulations.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original feel and appropriate tension for the baritone scale, prefer 13-62 gauge string sets. A standard strap and a tuner are also essentials to fully exploit low tunings and vibrato stability.
