The AEWC Series: Ibanez's "comfort" vision in the acoustic range

With the AEWC400, Ibanez emphasizes a modern grip: a body designed to remain comfortable whether sitting or standing, and a cutaway that frees up the upper positions. This approach targets guitarists who want an acoustic with a bold look, easy playability, and above all effective when plugged in thanks to simple and reliable built-in electronics.

Who is it for, and for which styles?

This guitar is well suited for intermediate and advanced players looking for an agile electro-acoustic for rehearsals, stage, or direct recording. Its format and preamp make it relevant for pop, acoustic rock, modern folk, pick accompaniment, as well as arpeggio playing that requires precision and comfort across the entire neck.

Sound

The flamed maple (top, back, and sides) provides a quick response, excellent note-to-note clarity, and defined highs, particularly appreciated when playing with a pick and in open chords. The walnut fingerboard and bridge contribute to overall balance, avoiding a harsh tone while maintaining good presence across the spectrum. The nyatoh neck enhances midrange and bass density, while the AEWC body, more ergonomically focused, offers a more controlled low end and very clean amplified sound. When plugged in, the combination of Fishman Sonicore + Ibanez AEQ-SP2 aims for natural reproduction with immediate adjustment via volume, bass, treble, and tuner activation.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

For daily protection, the recommended Ibanez ICB540-BK gig bag is suitable. For replacement strings, the Ibanez IACS6C set with gauges .012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053 respects the original setup. For stage and console use, plan according to your needs a 6.35 mm (1/4") jack cable and/or an XLR cable, as well as a spare 9V battery for the electronics.
