Sound Characteristics

The combination of a spruce top and maple back and sides provides a very musical balance: spruce favors dynamics and right-hand nuance, while maple enhances attack, clarity, and controlled brightness. The ebony fingerboard contributes to a quick response, tight lows and mids, and rich sustain. On the amplification side, the two floating GB humbuckers (passive) deliver a round and expressive sound with excellent chord definition. The simple and effective wiring (2 volumes, 2 tones, and a 3-position selector switch) allows switching from a warm neck tone to a more incisive bridge register, all while maintaining excellent feedback control.
