The SR1420B-CGL is especially aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists who want a precise, modern, and ultra-adaptable 4-string. Its "Atlas-4" neck and 24 frets suit technical playing (slap, tapping, pick playing, fast runs), while the 3-band EQ and fine midrange control make it comfortable in funk, pop, modern rock, fusion, gospel, metal, or contemporary music requiring a bass that cuts through the mix.

The Sound

The combination of a flamed maple top and African mahogany body balances attack and depth: maple provides definition and clarity, while mahogany reinforces the low mids and tactile feel. The Nordstrand Big Break pickups deliver a modern, full, and articulate tone with excellent dynamic response depending on the right hand. The 3-band EQ allows switching from a precise hi-fi sound to a denser, more percussive output. To ensure a direct and effective sound, the EQ bypass enables switching to a simpler operation with passive tone control on the treble potentiometer, and the 3-way mid-frequency selector helps place the bass exactly where needed (attack, presence, or warmth).

To protect the instrument during transport, the recommended MRB500C case is a suitable option. The bass comes with a gig bag, and a 9V battery is required for the active electronics.
