Sound characteristics

The semi-hollow construction provides a more organic feel, with natural resonance that enriches notes and gives beautiful depth to attacks. The combination of a exotic maple top and okoumé body balances clarity, dynamics, and warmth, while the 5-piece maple/walnut neck enhances stability and definition. The two Nordstrand Big Break pickups deliver a powerful and articulate sound, ideal for tight lows and present mids. The AeroSilk piezo system adds a more "woody" dimension, very useful for fine nuances, more open sounds, or an acoustic-like approach. With the 2-band equalizer and piezo tone control, you can quickly switch from a punchy modern sound to a more airy and detailed color.

Recommended compatible accessories

This bass is designed for gauge .045/.065/.080/.100/.132 and D'Addario ECB81-5 Flatwound strings: an excellent choice if you are looking for a smooth feel and rich sound, with controlled harmonics. For transport, the manufacturer recommends the MRB500C case and the IBB540-BK gig bag. Also plan for 1 9v battery for the active electronics.
