Audiolens Referencing: Vocal "Tone Match" Guided by Reference

The Audiolens Referencing feature allows you to approach the character of a reference vocal by isolating the voice from the chosen track, then providing you with a clear starting point for your processing. The goal: stop "going in circles" with EQ and color and start from a precise target. You can also build a library of references usable within the Vocal Assistant to maintain the same sonic direction from session to session.

Vocal Assistant: Custom Presets in a Few Clicks

The Vocal Assistant simplifies treatment selection by letting you choose a target (from your library) or import a reference to analyze. Then, you adjust key musical parameters such as EQ, intensity, and width to position the vocal in the mix without altering its character. On the same page, you can also dial in effects (dimension, reverb, delay) and add movement via layers, offsets, and pitch variations.

Voices: Instant Harmonies and MIDI Control

The Voices module facilitates creating harmonic layers without manually programming each line. Rely on presets close to your intent, then fine-tune them: Nectar offers 11 auto-harmonies to quickly explore backing vocal colors. The MIDI mode provides precise control by dictating exact notes, and the built-in editor allows adjusting the number of voices and sung chords to fit your arrangement.

Backer: AI-Driven Artificial Backing Vocalists

Backer generates supporting voices that complement your lead, useful for thickening a chorus, building a credible demo, or reinventing ad-libs. Eight styles are available, with the option to import your own acapella for further shaping of the result. The Tone, Pitch, and Formant controls help blend these voices behind the main vocal, while automation offers detailed control over changes and style selection to create lively transitions. Note: this module is trained exclusively on English-language material.

Transparent Dynamic EQ and Musical Follow EQ

Nectar 4 Standard introduces two 24-band dynamic EQs designed for vocals, useful both in correction (resonances, harshness) and creation (presence, air) without imposing coloration. The Follow EQ mode goes further by allowing adjustments based on the musical note detected in real time, preserving a natural sound on monophonic signals while remaining precise on problematic areas.

Pitch Correction and Melodyne 5 Essential Integration

For pitch accuracy and tonal placement, Nectar includes a pitch correction module and comes bundled with Melodyne 5 Essential (in partnership with Celemony). This provides a complete solution, ranging from quick correction in a mix context to a more detailed approach when finer editing is needed.
