An "American Series" Rhoads: Jackson DNA Built for the Stage
With its immediately recognizable asymmetrical design, the Rhoads is one of the most iconic shapes in the metal world. This American Series RR24 HT follows Jackson's performance model lineage: meticulous finishes, premium component selection, and a clear focus on speed, precision, and reliability under intense playing conditions.
Who is it for, and what styles?
The RR24 HT is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking an effective electric guitar for metal, hard rock, thrash, prog, and all styles requiring sharp attacks and fluid leads. The fixed bridge is a major advantage if you play alternate tunings (drop, half-step down, etc.) or prioritize impeccable tuning stability without the constraints of a tremolo system.
Tone
The alder body provides a very versatile balance: firm lows, present mids, and a clear attack, perfect for pick-driven rhythms. The ebony fingerboard enhances definition and response, helping maintain clarity under heavy distortion. On pickups, the Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 at the bridge delivers punchy mids and dense saturation, ideal for tight palm mutes and artificial harmonics, while the Seymour Duncan '59 at the neck offers a more open dynamic and beautiful clarity for solos. The simple and direct electronics (3-position selector, volume, tone) emphasize efficiency and control in live playing.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
The guitar comes with .009"-.042" / 0.23-1.07 mm strings: a replacement set of the same gauge is a safe choice to maintain the original feel and balance. With the included Jackson padded gig bag, you're ready for rehearsals and gigs.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Jackson American Series Rhoads RR24 HT suitable for drop tunings?
The Hipshot 6 fixed bridge enhances tuning stability and facilitates the use of alternative tunings, including drop tunings. The 25.5" (647.7 mm) scale length and Gotoh MG-T locking tuners are part of a setup designed for sustained playing.
Which pickups are equipped on this Rhoads and what sound do they deliver?
