A Pianistic Heritage Serving the Virtual
With over 90 years of expertise, Kawai designed the VPC1 as a master keyboard dedicated to virtual piano. Derived from research conducted on the brand's concert grand pianos, it features a long pivot wooden construction, weighted hammers, and mechanics close to a real piano. The result: a natural, stable, and precise playing feel, designed for demanding pianists both in the studio and on stage.
For Pianists, Producers, and Composers
The VPC1 is aimed at musicians who want to regain the nuance and rapid repetition of an acoustic piano while benefiting from the sound engines of the best VSTi. Whether recording sensitive takes with low latency, performing recitals with a computer, or composing with orchestral libraries, it offers fine velocity control and consistent response from staccato to legato.
Features Designed for Realism and Workflow
Wooden action, precision at your fingertips
Each wooden key has a "synthetic ivory" surface for optimal grip. The triple sensor detection improves note repetition and continuity, while the escapement simulation reproduces the "let-off" of a grand piano. Counterweights on the bass keys and a long pivot ensure balance and control across the entire range.
Ready-to-use touch curves and advanced editor
The "Approved Touch Curve" presets instantly calibrate the response for popular virtual pianos. The VPC editor allows creation of unlimited velocity curves, advanced MIDI routing management, use of a learning function, and storage of up to five configurations recallable from the keyboard.
Universal connectivity and stage design
A single USB cable is enough for power and MIDI. The MIDI In/Out ports allow control of external modules, and USB can be combined with standard MIDI for simultaneous software and instrument control. The streamlined chassis, without distracting controllers, focuses on the essentials: playing.
