The GTRS S800: the meeting of classic luthiery and MOOER technology

MOOER became known in 2010 with its mini-format pedals before pushing further the integration between instrument and technology. With the evolution of the MNRS engine in 2020 and collaboration with designer Kenji Wong, the brand created the GTRS range: electric guitars with a familiar look but capable of housing a true effects ecosystem. The S800 stands as a key model in the series, while a Premium version P800 (alder body and new pickup kit) completes the offer.

For whom and in which styles?

The GTRS S800 is aimed at serious beginners to intermediate guitarists who want a versatile and immediately inspiring instrument, as well as stage or home studio musicians looking for a lightweight setup. Pop, rock, funk, blues, variety, worship, covers: the S-S-H configuration and 5-position selector cover a wide range, and the built-in processor allows switching from clean tones to more saturated textures without a pedalboard. The rhythm boxes, metronome, and looper also make it an excellent practice guitar.

Sound

The basswood body provides a balanced response, with present mids and a consistent attack, ideal for letting the pickups and effects shape the final character. The roasted maple neck promotes stability and a smooth feel, while the rosewood fingerboard adds a slight warmth in the treble and a rounder sensation under the fingers. On the amplification side, the GTRS Alnico V pickups in S-S-H offer precise neck and middle positions for arpeggios and crisp rhythms, and a denser bridge humbucker for riffs and leads. The intelligent GTRS processor (simulations, effects, looper) completes the package for immediate versatility, also controllable via the mobile app.

To stay true to the original setup, a set of 09-42 electric strings is perfectly suited. You can also plan for a standard instrument jack cable for the main output, as well as a strap (universal size) for standing play.
