A guitar born from MOOER's "music and technology" DNA
Founded in 2010 in Shenzhen, MOOER became known for its mini format effect pedals, then expanded its universe towards increasingly integrated solutions. In April 2020, the brand unveiled the MNRS 2.0 engine and launched, with designer Kenji Wong, the GTRS line: electric guitars designed as traditional instruments but enriched with an integrated effects system. The S800 represents the "series" entry point of this vision, while a Premium P800 version (alder body and different pickup kit) exists for those who want to go further.
Who is the GTRS S800 for?
The GTRS S800 is ideal for beginner to intermediate guitarists who want an easy-to-handle instrument capable of sounding immediately "produced" at home, in rehearsal, or on the go. It will also suit advanced musicians looking for an ultra-practical guitar to practice, quickly record ideas, or perform light sets. Its natural playground: pop, rock, funk, blues, worship, covers, but also modern textures thanks to the effects and looper.
The sound
The basswood body promotes overall balance, with present mids and an attack sharp enough to remain clear in chords as well as riffs. The roasted maple neck provides a stable and responsive feel, while the rosewood fingerboard slightly rounds the attack for a natural touch. The S-S-H Alnico V configuration allows for dynamic clean sounds on the single coils and more density on the humbucker, all controlled by 1 volume, 1 tone, and a 5-position selector. Finally, the built-in GTRS processor expands the palette with its simulations, effects, rhythms, and looper, and the "Super Knob" button facilitates preset control directly from the guitar.
Recommended compatible accessories
To stay with the original setup, a set of 09-42 electric strings is the safest choice. A USB-C cable (included) is useful for charging, and a 6.35 mm jack instrument cable remains essential for the main output to an amp or interface.
