A GTRS Designed as a Modern "Strat," Powered by MOOER Technology
MOOER became known in 2010 with its mini-format effect pedals before going further in integrating guitar and technology. With the evolution of the MNRS engine and the collaboration of designer Kenji Wong, the GTRS range was born with a simple idea: to maintain the aesthetics and feel of a traditional electric guitar while embedding a true effects environment. The GTRS S801 belongs to the S800 series, featuring a basswood body and a Surf Green finish with a decidedly classic look.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
The GTRS S801 is aimed at motivated beginners as well as intermediate players who want a versatile instrument, ready to play at home, rehearsals, or on the go. Thanks to the S-S-H pickup set and 5-position selector, it easily covers pop, funk, blues, rock, and more saturated genres. Its all-in-one approach is ideal for practicing with a metronome, looping ideas, or quickly crafting sounds via the app.
Sound Characteristics
The basswood body provides a balanced tone with present mids and a consistent response, perfect for exploiting a wide range of effects. The roasted maple neck offers a stable and responsive feel, while the maple fingerboard contributes to a crisp attack and well-defined highs. On the electronics side, the 3 GTRS Alnico V pickups (S-S-H) combine clarity and dynamics on the single coil positions, and a stronger gain reserve via the humbucker. The volume + tone controls, 5-position selector, and "Super Knob" button make switching between traditional sounds and integrated processor presets particularly smooth.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the same feel and tension, plan for an electric string set 09-42 identical to the original. An additional USB-C cable can also be handy for charging the battery and managing usage with the app.
