A GTRS Guitar Designed in Shenzhen: Design Tradition, Technological DNA
After making an impact on guitarists with its mini pedals since 2010, MOOER accelerated its "music + technology" approach with the development of the MNRS 2.0 engine and collaboration with designer Kenji Wong. The GTRS series was born from this idea: to maintain the ergonomics of a modern electric guitar while integrating a true MOOER effects system into the instrument. The S801 belongs to the S800 range, designed based on feedback from professional guitarists, while a Premium variant (P800) exists with different specifications.
Who Is the GTRS S801 For? A Modern Electric Guitar, Ideal for Playing Anywhere
The GTRS S801 targets motivated beginners as well as intermediate players who want a complete instrument that is easy to transport and effective at home, rehearsals, or on the go. Thanks to its presets, effects, and built-in tools (drum machines, metronomes, looper), it is especially suitable for pop, rock, funk, blues styles and more modern sounds requiring modulation, delay, or overdrive, without multiplying devices.
Sound
With its American basswood body, the S801 offers a balanced sonic foundation, with present mids and a consistent response, ideal for managing both clean tones and overdrive. The trio of GTRS Alnico V pickups in S-S-H configuration provides precision and attack on the single-coil positions, while offering more thickness and output level on the humbucker pickup for rock rhythms and solos. The volume / tone controls and the 5-position selector switch ensure quick changes, while the integrated GTRS processor allows chaining simulations and effects directly from the guitar, with smooth control via the Super Knob and the iOS/Android app.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To get the most out of your S801, plan for a 09-42 electric string set (same gauge as original) and some plectrums suited to your picking style. The guitar comes with a gig bag and a USB-C cable.
