A BFR Edition Designed for John Petrucci Fans and Low Tunings

Part of the "Ball Family Reserve" spirit, the JP15 Baritone "Cherry Creamsicle" stands as both a collector's piece and a working instrument. This baritone extends the JP15 DNA into lower registers while maintaining fast and precise ergonomics. With meticulous finishing, high-end wood selection, and performance-oriented design, it clearly targets guitarists seeking a modern baritone without compromise.

For Which Musicians and Styles?

This guitar is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists looking for a responsive baritone for progressive metal, modern rock, djent, as well as ambient and cinematic textures. The super thin neck profile, 17" / 431.8 mm radius, and 24 stainless steel frets promote low action and technical playing (alternate picking, legato, sweeping), while maintaining excellent clarity in chords and riffs at low tunings.

Sound

The DiMarzio humbucker pair gives this JP15 baritone a very "modern" character: at the bridge, the Crunch Lab delivers tight lows, sharp attack, and ideal definition for fast palm-muting; at the neck, the Liquifier offers smoother, rounder leads with great presence for melodies. The push/push volume with gain boost allows instant switching from precise rhythm to more generous sustain, while the push/push 500k tone opens wiring and internal combination options to fine-tune your balance between bite and softness. Finally, the piezo bridge (Fishman Powerbridge saddles) adds more "acoustic" textures, usable in stereo or blended with magnetic pickups: a real plus in studio and on stage. The alder + quilted maple combination with the roasted maple neck enhances clarity, projection, and sustain, especially effective on a long scale.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To fully exploit the mono/stereo outputs, plan for two 6.35 mm TS jack cables to separate the piezo and magnetic pickups into two inputs. To maintain tension and intonation in factory tuning, use the same gauge Ernie Ball 12-58 strings as original. A spare 9V alkaline battery is recommended to secure the piezo preamp power supply.
