What PSP NobleQ Is For

PSP NobleQ is a passive-type equalizer plug-in designed to add character, density, and a "high-end" finish to your tracks and buses. It is especially suitable for productions requiring musical rather than surgical equalization: vocals, guitars, drums, piano, synths, stereo buses, and mastering chains. Its "boost and attenuation" approach allows gentle spectral shaping, enhancing impact and clarity without aggressiveness, while maintaining a natural behavior close to an analog equalizer.

Main Features

A Passive EQ Philosophy with Extended Controls

Inspired by passive program EQs, PSP NobleQ combines a wide frequency range of adjustments with modern functions to easily integrate into a current workflow. Notably, you can switch the high-frequency filters (Peak and Shelf) between Boost and Attenuation modes, facilitating the search for the right balance between brilliance, presence, and smoothness.

Deep Bass Without Excess Low-Mids

The low shelf section is more than a simple shelving filter: it actually combines two stages. The first boosts the bass, while the second attenuates the bass with slightly higher tuning. This duo is very effective for achieving a solid and "finished" low end, avoiding congestion in the low midrange. The result: clearer kicks, better grounded bass, and a more stable bus.

Interactive Highs for Presence and Silkiness

The high-frequency section consists of two filters working together: a peaking filter (with adjustable bandwidth) and a shelf filter. Typically, the Peak is used for presence gain and the Shelf to smooth or calm the top end. NobleQ's uniqueness lies in the interaction between the two: the more attenuation applied in the highs, the more selective the Peak becomes, while maintaining a similar boost area at the center. Ideal for bringing out a vocal, adding air to overheads, or opening a mix without making it harsh.

Color and Finish: FAT Double Sampling and Valve-Like Rounding

PSP NobleQ focuses on an organic sound thanks to its FAT double sampling processing, designed for a more natural and analog-like response. To finalize the texture, a round "valve-like" algorithm is available on output, with adjustable processing depth, useful for softening transients, slightly thickening, or adding a more "finished" character to a bus.
